I read an article in Muscle & Fitness magazine that I thought was very interesting so I wanted to pass this information along to you. You may have heard in the past about some sort of connection that exists between your mind and your muscle growth, and maybe you believe there is some truth to it or maybe you don’t. Well here is some news that may sway your opinion. Researchers at Hull University in the United Kingdom recently performed a study that actually supports this theory. They had 30 individuals perform biceps curls, with half of them focusing on the actual biceps muscles and the other half simply thinking about lifting the weight. The results demonstrated significantly higher muscle activity in the group of individuals who were asked to focus on their biceps.
This is some pretty exciting news, especially if you haven’t been training like this in the past. In each of your sets, make sure you are aware of the exact muscle group that you are targeting, and focus on that muscle during your exercise. This will help you to activate more muscle fibers in your workout, resulting increased strength and growth. Try this out and see if you notice any difference after a few weeks.
